Annah Mac | Celia

So I’m posting this for a reason, and that reason is largely this:

What’s the story behind Celia?
The idea originated a very long time ago when a friend of mine asked me to write a song about her. All I had was a chorus of harmonies, a few hand claps, and a happy-make-people-smile vibe that I wanted to elaborate on. I dug it up not long ago, and at this time in particular I had a few friends just out of highschool who were struggling to balance their latest love interest and their longtime school friends, so this is where the main idea for the song came from and Celia got the wrap for it. She’s a good sort though!

My cousin Celia is that friend the song was written for! She isn’t the girl the song is about, but Annah remembered her request for a song from years ago and so borrowed her name. It’s actually rather catchy, and is played ridiculously often at work. It’s just rather cool when it plays at work to stop for a second and think - this song was written for my cousin.

ETA: So I just found this post in my drafts, and can’t think of why it never got posted.  Since then, the song has gotten more airplay, to the point where I was having drinks with some friends and friends-of-friends the other night and they started playing it on their iPhone and singing along.  And I really love that, even though I never met the girl (Annah, not my cousin. Obviously) I have a story about it.
